강진 후 건물 잔해 틈에서 기도하고 구출된 가족

로이터 통신에 따르면, 25일(현지시간) 베네수엘라 해안 도시 라과이라에서 붕괴된 8층 건물의 1층에 갇혀 있던 일가족(부모와 4세 아들)이 구조되었습니다. 이들은 지진 발생 25시간 만에 구조되었습니다.

가족은 잔해 속에 갇혀 있는 동안 직접 영상을 촬영했는데, 영상에는 비좁은 공간에서 부모가 어린 아들을 안심시키며 외부의 소리에 귀를 기울이는 모습이 담겨 있었습니다.

4세 아들, 어머니, 아버지 순으로 구조가 이루어졌으며, 어머니는 가족을 끌어안은 채 연신 “감사합니다”라고 외쳤습니다.

밖에서 기다리고 있던 할아버지 호세 알베르토 갈리폴리 라메다 씨는 손자가 구조되는 순간 아이를 품에 꼭 껴안았습니다.

라메다 씨는 26일 로이터 통신과의 인터뷰에서 “8층짜리 건물이었는데 내 아들은 1층에 살고 있었고, 그 위쪽 건물이 통째로 아들의 집 위로 무너져 내렸다”고 설명했습니다.

그는 이어 “아들 말로는 남은 공간의 높이가 60~70cm 정도밖에 되지 않았다고 한다. 무너지는 천장에 머리를 세게 맞았지만, 아들은 재빨리 바닥으로 몸을 던져 품에 안은 손자를 보호했다”고 전했습니다.

또한 “근처에 있던 가구가 천장의 무게를 지탱해 준 덕분에 작은 생존 공간이 생길 수 있었다”고 덧붙였습니다.

According to Reuters, a father, mother, and their four-year-old son were rescued on the 25th (local time) from the ground floor of a collapsed eight-story building in the Venezuelan coastal city of La Guaira.

The rescue took place 25 hours after the earthquakes struck.

The family recorded footage of themselves while trapped in the rubble; the video shows them in a cramped space, with the parents trying to reassure their young son while listening for sounds from outside.

As the four-year-old son, the mother, and the father were rescued in that order, the mother repeatedly cried out “Thank you” while embracing her family.

The grandfather, José Alberto Galípoli Lameda, who had been waiting outside, held his grandson tightly in his arms the moment the boy was rescued.

In an interview with Reuters on the 26th, Mr. Lameda explained, “It was an eight-story building, and my son lived on the first floor;

the entire structure above him collapsed straight down onto his unit.”

He continued, “My son said the remaining space was only about 60 to 70 centimeters high. Although the collapsing ceiling struck his head hard, he quickly threw himself to the floor and shielded his grandson in his arms.”

He added, “A piece of nearby furniture helped support the weight of the ceiling, creating a small pocket of survival space.”
