27일 오후 11시5분 타이완 이란현 동쪽 해역에서 규모 7.0의 지진이 발생했다고 타이완 교통부 중앙기상서(기상청)가 발표했습니다.
진원 깊이는 72.8㎞, 진앙은 이란현 정부청사에서 동쪽으로 32.3㎞ 지점입니다.
지진 발생 후 쓰나미 경보는 발령되지 않았습니다.
연합보 등 현지 언론에 따르면 지진은 수도 타이베이를 포함한 타이완의 전 지역에서 느껴질 정도였습니다.
현지 소방 당국은 현재까지 확인된 인명 피해는 없고, 구체적 정보를 수집 중이라고 밝혔습니다.
반도체 관련 제조 업체들은 일부 공장의 가동을 중단하고 직원들을 대피시켰습니다.
경제일보에 따르면 세계 최대 파운드리(반도체 수탁생산) 업체인 타이완 TSMC는 안전을 위해 비상 대응 절차에 따라 신주과학단지 내 생산공장 직원들이 실외로 대피했고, 모든 시설의 안전시스템은 정상적으로 작동하고 있다고 공지했습니다.
이밖에 UMC, VIS, 매크로닉스(Macronix), 윈본드(Winbond) 등 현지 반도체 관련 업체들이 설비 점검에 나섰다고 합니다.
우젠푸 중앙기상서 지진예측센터장은 이날 기자회견에서 이번 지진은 타이완 전 지역에 매우 뚜렷한 영향을 줬다면서도, 그 피해가 크지는 않을 것으로 내다봤습니다.
또한 일주일 내로 규모 5.5∼6.0의 여진이 발생할 가능성이 있다고 전망하며 주의를 당부했다고 합니다.
The Central Meteorological Department of Taiwan’s Ministry of Transport announced that a 7.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in the eastern waters of Iran Prefecture at 11:05 p.m. on the 27th.
The epicenter is 72.8 km deep and the epicenter is 32.3 km east of the Iranian prefectural government building. No tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake.
According to local media, including the Yonhap News Agency, the earthquake was felt throughout Taiwan, including the capital Taipei.
Local fire officials say there have been no confirmed casualties so far, and they are collecting detailed information.
Semiconductor-related manufacturers have shut down some plants and evacuated employees.
According to the Economic Daily, Taiwan’s TSMC, the world’s largest foundry (semiconductor consignment production) company, announced that employees of the production plant in the Shinju Science Complex were evacuated to the outside in accordance with emergency response procedures for safety, and the safety systems of all facilities were operating normally.
In addition, local semiconductor-related companies such as UMMC, VIS, Macronix, and Winbond have begun facility inspections.
Wu Zhenfu, head of the Earthquake Prediction Center at the Central Meteorological Department, said at a press conference that the earthquake had a very clear impact on all parts of Taiwan, but predicted that the damage would not be significant.
It also warned of possible aftershocks of 5.5 to 6.0 magnitude within a week.
