On the 16th, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly targeted the production team of *NAZA*, a documentary exposing civilian casualties in the Gaza war. He announced plans to push for legislation that would revoke the citizenship of—and increase defamation damages twentyfold against—anyone who disparages the Israeli military while abroad.
*NAZA*, which won an award at this year’s Venice International Film Festival, claims that the Israeli military repeatedly factored in large-scale civilian casualties when selecting targets for attack.
