대한민국의 외딴 마을, ‘호프 하버(Hope Harbor)’에서 경찰서장 범석(황정민)과 순경 성애(호연)는 마을을 아수라장으로 만든 정체불명의 괴생명체를 찾아 나선다.

인근 숲에서는 성기(조인성)를 비롯한 사냥꾼 무리가 그 짐승을 추적하려 나서지만, 오히려 자신들이 사냥당하는 처지에 놓이게 된다. 그러나 보이는 것이 전부는 아니며, 겉모습에 대한 판단은 종종 진실을 호도하기도 한다.

무지에서 비롯된 작은 씨앗은 재앙의 싹을 틔우고, 인간 간의 갈등을 거쳐 우주적 규모의 비극으로 치닫게 된다.

In the remote South Korea village of Hope Harbor, police chief Bum-seok (Hwang Jung- min) and officer Sung-ae (Hoyeon) are called to find a mysterious creature that has wreaked havoc on the village.

In the nearby forest, a coterie of hunters, including Sung- ki (Zo In-Sung) set out to track the beast and find themselves hunted instead. But all is not as it seems, and perceptions can be misleading.

What begins as ignorance plants the seed of disaster, escalating through human conflict into a tragedy of cosmic proportions.
